Bad Management Cares Nothing for the Residents MOLD !

Update on my prior post about fighting corporate :

The company owner I hired to come into my apartment and take air samples sent the lab results showing mold in both my bedroom and living room, to the manager. he wanted to  arrange a time for the manager and him to talk about getting this mold out of my apartment a/c ducts.

Instead, he was told by her, that he had no business taking air samples without talking to her first.
This was/is in MY apartment, that I pay $524.00 for on time each month. I have a right to have anyone I want to come into my apartment. That would include a local tv station (s ) if I  decide to do this.

He said he doubts that he will ever be allowed to come back into this building again. Let me state that he was not sneaking around. He signed into the building log at the front desk.

I now have the proof that at least my apartment is moldy. I also smelled it. I still do, when the a/c is between cycles.

The air sample testing was done and the company owner did not touch or  take down any vents or walls, etc. He merely  did the air samples. This mold was found to be in my apartment after the shoddy company the management company hired, supposedly cleaned the ducts and "got rid of the mold."

They did not get rid of the mold ! I will give her the opportunity to talk with me about this on Monday.  If by Tuesday, September 24th, 2013 I have not heard from her, I will stop being ms nice lady.
I will then take steps like I should have in the beginning when I noticed and became sick from the mold, to the  county health department and state of Florida and maybe even obtain an attorney.

Fighting Corporate, and Mold In My A/C Ducts

I'm feeling beat, exhausted. Fighting corporate. Breathing is not good. 2 types of mold were found in indoor air tests.

 

The management at this building claims there's no mold in my apartment, because they vacumned the a/c ducts and sprayed a mold inhibitor that's non-toxic.  The maintence guy brought his condensation meter and said there was a very small amount of moisture, therefore, no mold !

 

I have been smelling and breathing this mold since June 26, 2013, when I moved here. I knew what this was. Mold.

 

I was told by the bldg manager that they "would never leave me living in dire circumstances."

She also stated they had properly done what they should and that I have no mold in my apartment.

 

The next day after  the a/c ducts were supposedly cleaned ( they never did take air samples and send to a lab. ) , I called someone reputable and more knowledgeable about this issue.

 

Air samples were taken Tuesday September 17th 2013. The lab results came back Thursday Sept 19th 2013 positive for two types of mold. The mold in my living room is the most toxic one and the one in my bedroom is bad also.

 

A letter and the lab results were faxed to this building manager this morning. Hopefully she will agree to meet with the company I paid for and hired, to get this serious health problem taken care of.

 

I'm breathing, but not so great. Feeling very sick.

They Call This Mold Duct Cleaning ?

This company that has been hired and paid has not done their job ! I continue to be sick. Breathing is uncomfortable and ears and sinuses are clogged.

This was done on Thursday, September 12th 2013. All they did was vacumn out the  a/c ducts and spray some kind of mold spray into all of them.

One of my friends came over Friday , September 13th 2013, and took off the vent over my bedroom doorway , and I handed him my digital camera. The so called cleaning results in this picture :

 The company was called and hopefully two more informed techs will do a good job and finish what the first team did'nt do!

Anaphylaxis or Anaphylactic Shock

I have been sick. Only this time it's from a chemical that was sprayed into my apartment a/c  ducts.
I have to get  the full name and ingredients so I'm aware of this , lest it should happen again.

The maintenance guys did not know and I did not know that I was allergic to these chemicals !

I had anaphylactic shock this past Tuesday, August 27th 2013.

I did'nt get all the symptoms at the same time. Right away, I had a peculiar feeling in my mouth, and all around my lips and tip of tongue felt fuzzy. My eyes were watery and my  ears and nose were stuffed up. The coughing began, but I felt better when I was outside.

I had a doctor appointment that afternoon. In the afternoon, the eyes were extremely watery. More coughing....shortness of breath whenever I talked awhile or walked from one room to another.

At 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, my temperature went down to 96* ! My whole body felt so cold. I felt sick, and had an unusual feeling. I said prayers.

The maintenance knows about this now, as I had a meeting with the maintenance manager.
I am just beginning to feel a bit better today.  It's early. I'm coughing but not hard. My nose is still blocked and one ear is blocked. Not feeling very perky at this time.

I went to bed at 11:30p.m. and woke up at 3:00a.m. today like I had  two pots of coffee or something.
I stayed in bed to rest my body and finally got up at 4:15 a.m. today.

Toxic Black Mold Can Make Us Seriously Sick

This is frightening for me to read, because this is what was found in my air-conditioning vent and the duct , over the bedroom door of my apartment building.

I sure do not need anymore illness. The guys said it was all cleaned out, but they are not 'professional mold removers.' The maintenance guys work  around in my apartment building. They did'nt even have proper protective masks or clothing on.

I love my apartment and it's been like coming home, as I lived here  before, but in a different apartment and had no trouble with mold or mold odors....I certainly do not want to have to move from here !

Mold !

I have lived back here at my former apartment building since June 26th 2013.
Ever since, as I walked into my bedroom and back out again, I smelled this moldy smell.

I reported it to management and they got right on it, but have not done away with all the mold, as it's in the ducts and most likely our whole building ! The vent over my bedroom door was covered in black mold on the inside. Yuck ! This was/is very dangerous.

Not only that, I took a picture of the gapping hole while the vent was off.

 

The vent and the crud from the duct has been cleaned as of today ! But the mold is still there and in my other two a/c ducts, also! Currently, I'm trying to push the management into getting this serious health issue taken care of !

 

The company bought a new shop vac with a HEPA filter and also sprayed a type of mold cleaner into the duct, which has made me very sick with a lung disease named chemical pneumonitis.

 

 I don't know how often this will need to be done,  and I hope the management company will get on this before someone else 'dies' and is blamed on a pneumonia or heart attack cause of death.

 

  Really it most likely was the mold in our a/c ducts ! They have never been maintained properly as far as anyone knows.
